After riding the previous version of the Druid I was incredibly excited to see the new version and build my perfect vision of a trail bike, capable, nimble and built to withstand the punishment that the Lake District dishes out. I started with a frame and applied a full custom paint splatter effect frame protection that I made myself. If you like the finish I am able to offer this in any colour scheme for almost any bike, just get in touch! I then finished the build with a dream parts list of ultimate level suspension from Rockshox, XT 12 speed gears, full Burgtec finishing components, OneUp dropper post and finished with a set of hand built wheels.
The wheels use DT Swiss 350 hubs for bombproof reliability, laced to a 27.5 EX511 rear rim, 29 XM481 front rim with 28 spokes front and rear, using a combination of different thickness double butted spokes to achieve the best blend of strength, weight and compliance for maximum performance. To finish off the customisation I stripped and rebuilt the brilliant Hope tech E4 brakes, fabric scoop saddle and Burgtec parts with paint splatter to match the frame protection. The final bike has come out amazing, better than I ever expected and can’t wait to get some serious miles in. After the first few rides and getting the bike setup to my preferences I can feel a marked improvement from my old V1 Druid, so much that I even made my sons new balance bike to match, more details on that to follow…

If you like the finish of the frame just get in touch info@finetunecycles.co.uk and we can make your dream a reality for the fraction of the cost of a custom paint job, without voiding any manufacturer’s warranty.
