Hello, my name is Sam and I have been a highly qualified professional bicycle mechanic for almost 20 years. I have been riding for as long as I can remember and have always loved working on my own bikes and feel lucky to have turned my passion into a career. Since starting out as a junior mechanic I have always strived to learn, develop and perfect my skills which has led me to working in some of the best workshops in the country, but now it’s time to provide my experience and expertise to cyclists from my own workshop, based in the Lake District. I specialise in wheel building, having performed over 1000 builds to suit every kind of bike imaginable, from 12” wheels for a balance bike, through to touring bikes that have gone around the world unsupported. In recent years I have worked with Biketreks in Ambleside and while there have mastered the application of paint protection film and truly bespoke custom builds, where every part is tailored to perfection.
